holtman’s donuts

Am I the last person to try Holtman’s Donuts? I’m pretty sure the answer is yes. I was trying to hold out until the Over the Rhine shop had doughsants (their version of Dominique Ansel’s Cronut) but it doesn’t look like those will be available anytime soon.

Holtman's menuFrom left to right, peanut butter and jelly, pumpkin with cream cheese icing, kettle donut, and maple bacon.

Holtman's donutsMy favorites were the kettle and maple bacon donuts. The kettle cooked donut was crispier than all the others with a cinnamon glaze, and it reminded me of funnel cake. The maple bacon was a glazed donut with not too salty bacon on top (that’s the key, not too salty!).

Checkout the full Holtman’s Donuts menu here. I look forward to trying the red velvet cake, and I’m keeping my eyes glued to their twitter in case they decide to make the doughsant again. Seriously, I’d probably skip class to get a doughsant.
