This summer I’m working in Covington, so I often go somewhere in the area for lunch. Last week I visited one of my Covington favorites, Amerasia. The restaurant is super tiny. I think it only seats 40-50 people, so if you visit during a busy time be prepared to wait or order to-go. One of Amerasia’s best features is their super cheap lunch menu. I’m talking lunch specials for $5-6.
This time I chose General Tso’s Chicken. I think we’ve all had gelatinous food court General Tso’s Chicken but Amerasia’s is the opposite. It doesn’t take like it’s been sitting around all day. There’s a strong flavor of fresh ginger, and crushed red pepper that will make you rethink ordering Chinese when you stroll through the mall.
Another feature that makes Amerasia stand out is their beer selection. Well so I’ve been told– I’m not much of a beer drinker (does cider count?). If beer is your thing, they have over 100 choices of craft beer.
Check out the full Amerasia menu here. I’m also a fan of the Pad Thai.
