Finally a brunch post; finally a Cincinnati post. Last Sunday I woke up craving fried green tomatoes and remembered that Otto’s has a B.L.F.G.T (bacon, lettuce, fried green tomato with egg and cheese served on a croissant). Otto’s is a small restaurant on Main Street in Covington, Kentucky. There are so many good restaurants on Main that I want to try; you’ll probably see a lot of them reviewed here.
What ruins a good fried green tomato is the breading. Usually restaurants put too much breading on the tomato or it’s too soggy. The fried green tomatoes on this sandwich were perfectly crispy with light breading. I am from the south so you can trust my opinion on all things fried.
Isn’t it beautiful? The brunch menu at Otto’s is quite affordable. Everything is under $12. Next time I’d like to try the strawberry cheesecake french toast.
